    Adding a Clock (CSTC)

    To add a Clock to the system, proceed as follows:
     

    1. When the Browse Hardware window is displayed, click on the Add and select to add a Clock. The Update Clock window will then be displayed.

    1. Select the General settings option.
    2. If using Enterprise version, type in the Site information where the Clock is installed.
    3. Type in a Description of the Clock that will be used to identify it.
    4. Selecting the Disable Clock box will disable the particular Clock. A disabled Clock will be shown on the Device Setup window with a red cross through the Clock Icon.
    5. Select the Clock Make and Model from the list provided. The list displayed here varies according to the hardware chosen in the Features window.
    6. Select the Details settings option.

    1. Select whether the clock is to process the hours on the clock. This is usually set to Off when the clock is connected to CS Time software.
    2. Enter the amount of days the device should store a history of the information for.
    3. Then select if this device has a fingerprint reader and if so, whether it has a Futronic or Lumidigm reader.
    4. Now skip the Child Clock section (we will cover this further down) and select the Connection settings option.

    1. Type in the IP address and Port number of the device. By default, port 5123 is used on the clock.
    2. Enter the Clock User and Password.
    3. Now skip the Peers section (we will cover this further down) and select the Advanced settings option.

    1. You can now use the Employee Group select button and select a group of employees who are allowed to clock at the particular clock.
    2. Once all the particular Clock settings and options have been set correctly, click on the Ok button to save the clock information and add it to the Device list.
    3. Before configuring any other information, such as reader and access control settings, you need to open the Server Module in order for the Child clock settings to be populated. Whilst you can manually add the Child clock details, it is best to have the Server module add this to avoid incorrect serial numbers being filled in, which could cause problems.

     

    Note: You can add multiple devices with their relavent details before opening the Server Module. The Server Module will then update all new devices with the relevant Child clock details.

     

    1. Once you devices have syncronised, the child clock information will be populated and can be edited.
    2. In the Browse Hardware, highlight the Clock and click on Change.
    3. Now click on the Child Clock settings section, highlight the child clock and click Change.
    4. The Update Child Clock window will now be displayed.

    1. You can now change the Description to indicate the reader location, if required.
    2. If required, select the special feature associated with the clock. They can include:
      1. Quiet Clockings. This option will stop the clock from making a noise (internal buzzer) when clockings are made.
      2. Relay Duration. This is used to set the trigger duration for a turnstile/door.
    3. Select the Clock Type options for the clock. The options can include:
    1. Payroll clockings. This option is selected if this clock is to be used to collect Payroll Clockings.
    2. Access Control. This option is selected if the clock is going to be used to restrict access.
    3. Report Requests. This option is selected if the clock if the clock is going to be used to initiate the printing of a report.
    4. Information. If the clock is going to be used for the gathering of information that does not affect payroll clockings, i.e. times when kitchen is used, this option will be selected.
    5. Job Costing. This option is selected if clockings at this device are to be used for Job Costing clockings. When selected, the Job Costing tab will also be made available.
    1. If a Siren is connected to this clock, use the Siren Set select button to select a pre-defined siren set that is to be assigned to the clock.
    2. Select which relay the siren is connected to.
    1. Select the Access Control settings option. This option will only be active if the clock type has been selected to be an Access Control clock.

    1. Configure the Timezone settings if required. The options available are:
    1. Disable Time Zones. If selected any Time Zone that have been assigned to the clock will be disabled.
    2. Default Time Zone Set. This select option is used to select the Time Zone that is to be used by this clock. A Time Zone that has been allocated to an Employee or to a Shift will override this Time Zone.
    3. Time Zone Override Set. This select option is used to select a Time Zone that will override any other Time Zone that has been allocated to an Employee or Shift.
    4. Time Zone On In Only. This option is used to enable the Time Zone to be for In clocking only.
    1. Configure the Access Rights settings if required. The options available are:
      1. Access Point Number. This number is used to identify the access point and allocate access rights to a device.
      2. Deafult to NO ACCESS. This is ussed if the deafault access right should be set to No Access.
      3. Clock is Locked. This is used when you would like to lock the clock. The employee will then not be allowed to clock at this device and enter through the turnstile for example.
    2. If the particular device is to be used for Job Costing Clockings, select the Job Costing settings option.

    1. Use the Job Costing classification select buttons and select the job costing classifications that can be registered when this device is used.
    2. Now select the Reader settings option.

    1. The following information can be configured:
      1. Desciption. This description can be used to identify the reader if required.
      2. Reader Type. This option is used to cofigure the type of reader which is connected to the relevant connections on the device ans can be one of the following:
        • Keypad. This identifies the reader as a keypad only.
        • Prox. This identifies the reader as a proximity reader.
        • Keyprox. This identifies the reader as both keypad and proximity reader.
        • None. No reader is connected or reader disabled.
        • Identify & Verify. This option is used for fingerprint readers and sets this reader to accept both verification type clocking and Indentification type clocking.
        • Verify. This option is used for fingerprint readers and sets this reader to accept verification type clocking only. (This is when the employee needs to enter his card number before presenting his finger)
      3. TNA Direction. This option is used to set the TNA direction when clocking and can be set to either None, In only, Out only or Toggle (Toggles between In and Out).
      4. Access Effect. This option is used to set the Access contorl effect when clocking and can be set to either None, In only, Out only, Toggle (Toggles between In and Out) or TNA(which follows the TNA direction).
      5. Into Area Restriction. This option is used to configure Pathing which enforces an employee to clock in a defined clocking order. It can also be used to configure Anti-Passback which enforces that the Employee must be located in the Out Area before they can clock In and visa versa. 
      6. Use the In and Out Area select buttons to select the graphical representation that is to be used to define the in and out areas for the particular clock. In the User Module, you are then able to see in which Area each employee is currently located.
      7. If any triggers are linked to particular reader's relay, select the appropriate ticks to enable the relay.

    Changing Clock Information

    To change the information or settings of an existing Clock, proceed as follows:

    1. When the Device Setup window is displayed, select the clock to be changed and then click on the Change button. The Update Device Information window will then be displayed.
    2. Make the necessary changes and select the Ok button to save the changes.

    Removing a Clock

    To remove an existing Clock, proceed as follows:

    1. When the Device Setup window is displayed, select the clock to be removed and click on the Remove button.
    2. When the delete confirmation window is displayed select the Yes button to remove the selected Clock from the list.
