Hierarchy

    This option is used to import hierarchy information from an ASCII text file.

     

    CONTENT

    Import Formats

    Generic Format

    The CS Time Generic Import Format is a CSV (Comma Separated) format where each line represents separate hierarchy information.

     

    The format used is as follows:

    Supervisor EmpNumber

    Required. The unique 10 character, alphanumeric identifier for the supervisor.

    Employee EmpNumber

    Required. The unique 10 character, alphanumeric identifier for the supervised employee.

    1

    Required. 1 for yes, 0 for no.

    CanApproveClockings

    1

    Required. 1 for yes, 0 for no.

    CanApproveLeave

    1

    Required. 1 for yes, 0 for no.

     
    There are three wild card options if the Action type is R:
    1. The word ALL in the Employee EmpNumber field will delete every employee hierarchy record for that Supervisor, i.e. the supervisor does not supervise any employees anymore.
    2. The word ALL in the Supervisor EmpNumber field will delete every single hierarchy record for this employee i.e. the employee becomes unsupervised.
    3. The word ALL in the Supervisor EmpNumber and the word ALL in the Employee EmpNumber, will delete every single hierrachy record i.e. it empties the file.

    Importing Hierarchy Information

    To import hierarchy information, proceed as follows:

    1. Select the Clockings option from the File / Import dropdown menu and the Import Clockings window will be displayed.

    1. Use the From File select button and select the path and file from which the hierarchy information is to be imported.
    2. Select Generic Format.
    3. Click on the Start button to start the import operation. A progress window will be displayed while the system imports the information.
